Best preparation tips for Jelet 2021 : How to achieve top rank?


West Bengal Jelet (Joint entrance examination for lateral entry test) is the entrance test for direct entry to the 2nd year 3rd semester of four-year Bachelor degree courses in Engineering/Technology and Pharmacy.

If you crack the exam you can get a chance to take admission in government and private colleges and universities of West Bengal. If you ranked in the top 5 you can get a chance to get a seat at Jadavpur University, the top university of West Bengal.

Here, I am giving you some tips which can lead you to get a trade rank in the top 10. Jelet is a competitive examination and tough competition is there but if you follow these tips you can grab a seat in the top 10.



Tips to crack jelet 2021 exam easily:


1. Know the exam pattern
  • The jelet exam is an exam of 100 marks in which six subjects are included. 100 questions will be there and each carrying one mark.
  • The question paper will consist of only MCQ type questions. 
2. Understand the whole syllabus
  • During your preparation for Jelet 2018 aim to complete the whole given syllabus 1st before you reading any topic from out of the syllabus.
  • There will be five subjects for Jelet 2018, follow the wbjee guidelines for the syllabus and read the textbooks of those subjects.
3. Read standards textbook and practice books
  • You should know the whole theory before you practice MCQ. So, select standards textbooks as per your syllabus.
  • Try to solve the practice book. You can practice Jelet MCQ by Kajal Kumar Sarkar from Lakshmi Prakasni.

4. Set a daily routine:
  • If you are now studying in polytechnic then follow a daily routine and set a timetable for your Jelet preparation. 
  • Solve at least 20 to 25 maths and 10 problems from each subject per day.
  • Focus on understanding every topic and take short notes from them which will help you in last-minute preparation.
5. Preparation time and strategy:
  • Give more importance to theory-based subjects like Computer Application and environmental studies.
  • As you can give the theory part in very little time then I recommend you to attempt those two subjects first.
6. Books for Jelet Exam:

There are various books on the subjects of Jelet. You can follow our suggestion:
  • Electrical Technology: Chakraborty, Nath / Basic Electrical Technology: Asfaq Hussain
  • Strength of Materials: R S Khurmi
  • Engineering Mechanics: R S Khurmi
  • Mathematics: A Sarkar/ JEE Main practice books 
  • Computer Applications: Sinha & Sinha
  • Environmental Studies: Gourkrishna Dasmahapatra
7. Give mock tests and solve the previous year question paper:
  • Give mock tests and solve the previous year's question papers. We will upload some mock test questions for Jelet later.

8. Revision and practice again:
  • Once you complete the whole syllabus and complete the short note then revise the whole syllabus twice at least before two months of the exam.
  • After two-time revision only practices mock tests and MCQ, you will be prepared for Jelet.
9. Recall all concepts and methods:
  • After the preparation of the whole syllabus spend one month to recall all the formulas, methods, and examples.
  • Short note-taking is very important for Environmental Studies and Computer Fundamentals.
  • Always clear your basic concepts, it will help you to solve even tough questions.
10.Be positive every time:
  • One day before the exam simply relax and keep the stress aside. Do meditation. It will keep you calm. Think positive. Study because you can.

The details regarding the mode, duration, papers, number of questions based on categories, marking scheme and more were available in the WBJEE 2020 exam pattern. The exam consisted of three sections - Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Information about the nature of the entrance examination is available through WBJEE 2021 exam pattern.
